Californians don't do tornadoes

It's that time of the year again: tornado season. Us California natives don't really know how to handle tornadoes. City officials recommending you stay away from windows? I run up to them to see the action. News casters advising you stay inside? I run outside to get a better look. Everyone else is in a state of frenzy, running into hiding places, stocking up on food, attentively watching the news. And me? Sitting on my couch, nonchalantly enjoying a chocolate ice cream bar. But I did learn something new about tornadoes yesterday as I was nomming away: All the freaks come out to play. My psychotic neighbors were outside. Playing and riding their bikes. During a tornado. And my friend Julia's neighbors ran out and threw beer bottles at each other.
